Mandates that carry across three decades
When Ralf Kutsche took full responsibility for bkm consultants in 2007, he brought not only his research discipline but also experience from major consulting firms: Daimler-Benz InterServices, SoGETI, SQS — and with it, mandates he was able to expand further. Today, bkm works with more than 50 industrial clients, from trusted-partner status with Deutsche Bahn to strategy consulting in DAX companies and specialised mandates in pharmaceuticals, mechanical engineering and telecommunications. In parallel, Aziz Sevindik builds the bridge to international markets.

Research & Science
Frontier research — the roots of our consulting
When Ralf Kutsche worked as a scientist at CERN in Geneva in 1990, the World Wide Web was being created there at the same time under Tim Berners-Lee. In this highly dynamic research environment, he worked at the international forefront of experimental high-energy physics — both at CERN and in parallel at the Helmholtz Centre for Heavy Ion Research. From this scientific environment, methodology, precision and disciplined analysis continue to shape his way of thinking and advising to this day

Public Sector
Secure and digital local government
Ralf Kutsche has been advising at this interface for years — with the City of Cologne, in programmes of the Frankfurt Chamber of Commerce, as well as with federal and state authorities and in university administration. With the EU AI Act, NIS-2 and the KRITIS Umbrella Act, public administrations now bear responsibilities that must be met under the simultaneous demands of data protection, citizen orientation and economic efficiency.

Three practices, one stance
Where we work

01 / Digitale Transformation
Embedding AI effectively
Understanding technologies, introducing digital transformation strategically across the organisation, making it measurable, embedding it and developing it continuously — along people, processes and responsibilities.

02 / Cybersecurit
Three-Domain Cybersecurity
Three security domains that can no longer function in isolation: occupational safety, electrical safety, IT/OT security. We bring them together into integrated governance — grounded in our own research on NIS-2, the KRITIS Umbrella Act and the EU AI Act.

03 / International
International growth
We build bridges between DACH industry and international markets in Europe and Asia — with cultural connectivity and a clear focus on growth.

Regulatory Requirements
Current regulation in focus
CBAM — the EU’s carbon border adjustment — has entered its binding phase in 2026. Anyone bringing carbon-intensive goods into the EU must document the embedded emissions and account for them financially. This affects importers as well as suppliers from third countries. We support companies with data collection, reporting and compliance — turning a regulatory obligation into a competitive advantage.

AI-supported security management
Compliance synergy between NIS-2, the KRITIS Umbrella Act and the EU AI Act: three European regulatory frameworks simultaneously challenge industrial mid-market companies at the digital, physical and organisational level. An integrated governance approach aims to prevent scarce resources from being dissipated across parallel compliance projects.

Measures for Inclusive Online Public Services
Digital Inclusion in the context of public services implies that all people moving and living within Europe, irrespective of their economic, social and cultural capital, can benefit from the use of digital public services. Indeed, inclusive digital public services can also be a lever for social inclusion, if digital services are delivered with a high quality, as highlighted in the research literature.

Security Process Improvement (SPI)
A method for improving the Security Management Approach (SMAP). The Security Management Approach (SMAP) presented here is intended to help SMEs, particularly in manufacturing, assess the maturity of their security processes using the SPI framework.
